Introduction
Who We Are
The Association of Zambians Living in Seychelles (AZASEY) is the organised community platform representing and bringing together Zambians living, working and studying in the Republic of Seychelles, together with other persons eligible for association in accordance with the AZASEY Constitution.
AZASEY exists to promote unity, mutual support, responsible community participation and the welfare of its members while strengthening the bonds that connect Zambians in Seychelles with one another, with their host country, and with Zambia.
Guided by the principle “One Zambia | One Nation | One Diaspora,” AZASEY seeks to build a vibrant, inclusive and responsible community in which members can connect, contribute, support one another and participate meaningfully in the life and development of the Association.

Background
Our History
AZASEY was established to provide an organised platform through which Zambians living in Seychelles could come together, promote their common welfare, preserve meaningful connections with Zambia and participate positively in the society in which they live.
Over time, the Association has developed a constitutional governance framework providing for membership, elected leadership, meetings, financial accountability, committees, elections and disciplinary procedures.
Today, AZASEY is entering a renewed phase focused on strengthening institutional governance, expanding membership participation, improving accountability, modernising administration and building a more active and connected Zambian community in Seychelles.

What we work towards
Objectives
AZASEY seeks to:
- 01Promote unity, fellowship and cooperation among Zambians living in Seychelles.
- 02Promote the welfare and mutual support of members and their families, particularly during times of need.
- 03Provide an organised platform through which matters affecting the Zambian community in Seychelles may be discussed and addressed responsibly.
- 04Promote Zambian culture, heritage, identity and positive community engagement.
- 05Encourage constructive relations between the Zambian community and the people and institutions of Seychelles.
- 06Facilitate educational, social, cultural, sporting, professional and community-development initiatives for the benefit of members and the wider community.
- 07Encourage active participation, volunteerism and responsible membership within the Association.
- 08Promote transparent, accountable and constitutionally guided administration of the Association.
- 09Strengthen communication and cooperation among members and relevant institutions in matters affecting the Zambian community.
- 10Develop programmes, partnerships and initiatives that contribute to the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of AZASEY.

Our authority
Constitutional Mandate
AZASEY is governed by its Constitution, which establishes the Association’s membership framework, governance structures, meetings, leadership responsibilities, financial administration, elections, accountability mechanisms and disciplinary procedures.
The Constitution remains the principal internal governance instrument of the Association.

Our Community in Seychelles
AZASEY brings together Zambians from different professions, institutions, backgrounds and stages of life across Seychelles.
The Association recognises that a strong diaspora community is built not merely by living in the same country, but by knowing one another, supporting one another and creating opportunities to contribute collectively.
Through its Executive Committee, Secretariat and Functional Committees, AZASEY seeks to transform individual participation into organised community action.
